Our story · Notes from Alaçatı
Alaçatı through the year
Herbs in spring, wind in summer, a soft light in autumn and winter: when to come, and what you will find.

Spring. Every April Alaçatı celebrates its Herb Festival (Alaçatı Ot Festivali), a feast of the wild Aegean herbs of the peninsula, with cooking workshops, talks, concerts, a costumed parade and the stalls of local women producers. Its dates change every year; in 2026 it ran from 20 to 26 April. Spring is quiet, green and mild.
Summer. From mid-June to mid-September the northern wind blows across Alaçatı's shallow bay, which makes it a favourite of windsurfers; beginners learn in the shallow water close to the shore. July and August are the busiest months: the stone streets, restaurants and shops stay lively late into the night. Our cool courtyard and small pool are the quiet side of it.
Autumn and winter. The crowds leave, the light softens and the town belongs to its people again. October averages around 19 °C, the winter months around 9–11 °C (İzmir province). Kitesurfers stay until November. It is the time for long breakfasts, the Saturday market (there all year) and walks up to the windmills.
We are open all year round, apart from short maintenance breaks: in winter a warm room and quiet streets are waiting for you.
